History
ABC Design has been successfully developing, producing and marketing pushchairs, their accessories and other baby equipment for 35 years. The cornerstone of the company's success was Dietmar Fischer's idea of offering high-quality children's products with a fair price-performance ratio in Germany. Today, the medium-sized family business is the market leader in the strollers segment and is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-quality baby products. Parents in over 40 countries trust the high quality of the products and appreciate their wide range of functions.
1989
ABC Design was founded by Dietmar Fischer and his wife Evi in Waldshut, Baden-Württemberg. The fledgling family business started by introducing the Italian pushchair brand Monbebe to the German market. The launch was supported by a specialist retail catalogue of the same name and the company's first appearance at the Kind + Jugend trade fair with its own exhibition stand.
1991
The first ABC Design collection is coming onto the German market under the name ‘Baby Fun’. It is manufactured at the Taiwan site.
1993
‘Baby Fun’ is being replaced. The first ABC Design collection is being launched under the same name. Production is moving to China.
1995
Child and sport are no longer mutually exclusive: ABC Design is proud to present the world's first sport stroller with a reversible pushbar – the ‘Tech Rider’.
1997
Children in pairs are also catered for: ABC Design introduces the first twin pushchair. In the same year, ABC Design publishes its first eight-page catalogue for end consumers.
1998
ABC Design is expanding: its products are already sold in more than 26 countries worldwide.
1999
The rapidly growing company is moving into a new office building in Albbruck. A 5,000-square-metre, modern high-bay warehouse with 2,200 pallet spaces will be built next to it.
2000
ABC Design is at the cutting edge of design by being the first company to fit its pushchairs with pneumatic tyres. ABC Design is launching the ‘Boomer’ high chair as a new product.
2001
Expansion eastwards: ABC Design is attending the ‘Mother & Baby’ trade fair in Moscow for the first time.
2003
Kids on the road: ABC Design introduces the first pushchair with car seat and baby safe. ABC Design presents the new 2003/2004 catalogue to the end user, featuring the numerous new products. ABC Design receives the golden exhibition award from the Moscow exhibition for two products on display.
2004
Jörg Zehe is appointed to the management board and takes over the role of deputy to Dietmar Fischer. He is now responsible for Sales in Germany and Export.
2006
Prams for Spain's offspring: ABC Design is represented for the first time with its own exhibition stand at the ‘Feria Valencia de Puericultura’ trade fair in Valencia.
2007
ABC Design is growing at its Albbruck site, with 40 employees now working there, and it sells its products in 33 countries worldwide. An innovation offensive is bringing special product solutions to the market, such as the ‘3-Tec’ stroller or ‘Zoom’, the smallest double stroller on the German market. In addition to innovative product solutions, safety and quality are the most important factors for ABC Design.
The development of the foldable ‘TakeOff’ buggy marks the first time that an ABC Design product has won the iF product design award. In the same year, the ‘TakeOff’ is nominated for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany.

Another accolade for the ‘TakeOff’, the sports pushchair, which wins the renowned IDEA Award in silver. At the ‘Kind + Jugend’ trade fair, ABC Design also presents two attractive new products: the ‘Condor’ strollers and the ‘Spider Bouncer’ baby bouncer.
2009
The Zoom double stroller has won the silver Best Baby & Infant Product Award 2009.
2010
ABC Design is taking a modern approach with its pushchair configurator for the Apple iPhone.
2011
Bernd Fischer is taking over from Dietmar Fischer as joint managing director of ABC Design, together with Jörg Zehe.

ABC Design is expanding its collection with the outdoor pushchairs Tereno 4 and Zoom Air. The Tereno 4 is perfect for active families who enjoy spending time together in the great outdoors. The pushchair is flexible, multifunctional and, thanks to its large pneumatic tyres, perfect for any terrain. The Zoom Air, with its pneumatic tyres, combines the advantages of the proven and established twin and double strollers Zoom with the outdoor strength of the Viper 4.
